Sometimes known as non objective, usually art is in the form of a painting, picture or sculpture.

NOUN

art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colours and textures.

At the end of the 19th Century many artists felt a need to create a new kind of art which encompassed the changes taking place in science, technology and philosophy. Artists drew their theoretical arguments reflected from social and intellectual areas of Western culture at that time. Thus, Abstract was born.

Moving into the 21st Century the popularity grew for this form with many abstract works being created purely for visual purpose. Interest grew for abstract art with clients seeking art for their playful forms, interactions and creativity, not to mention the colour and texture that makes this art 'beautiful'.

The term 'Abstract' refers to an artistic style and is art that does not necessarily depict a scene, subject, person or place. Often in large scale, Abstract art is made up of varied brushstrokes, shapes, colours, textures and contrasts.

Abstract Art focuses on pure visual aspects and quality of work which allows the viewer to focus on letting the shapes, colours and images/ strokes do the talking, where in lies the thought process of what these images represent.
